Club Service

Club Service focuses on strengthening fellowship and ensuring the effective functioning of the club. Effective club service involves fellowship, strengthening membership and training. Each week’s meeting typically features a speaker from outside of the club who is both informative and entertaining.
Popular TV Weatherman Mark Madryga of Global TV Vancouver was a recent guest speaker. Mark gave a great presentation about both weather forcasting (not a perfect science) and the production of the Morning News at Global TV (getting up at 3 AM each morning). His entertaining talk, and answers to the many questions, was a hit with the audience which included members of the host club and Rotarians from both the Abbotsford and Abbotsford-Sumas Rotary Clubs.

The Rotary motto Service Above Self conveys the humanitarian spirit of the organization’s more than 1.2 million members. Strong fellowship among Rotarians and meaningful community and international service projects characterize Rotary worldwide.
In Abbotsford we are the “fun club that gets things done”.
